A table is presented giving an analysis of the gases coming out of the hydrogenation process at different locations in percentages of CO/sub 2/ H/sub 2/S, O/sub 2/, H/sub 2/, N/sub 2/, CH/sub 4/, C/sub 2/H/sub 2/, C/sub 3/H/sub 8/, iC/sub 4/H/sub 10/, nC/sub 4/H/sub 10/, C/sub 5/H/sub 12/ and higher, and CO. These gases were: the circulating gas in front of wash oil with 69.1% H/sub 2/; the circulating gas behind oil wash with 75.2% H/sub 2/; the cold converter II, step I, with 52.7% H/sub 2/; the cold converter II, step II, with 10.2% H/sub 2/; the converter II, step III with 2.0% H/sub 2/; the washer step I with 47.3% H/sub 2/; the washer step II with 37.6% H/sub 2/; the washer off gas I and II with 40.36% H/sub 2/; the washer off gas III with .4% hydrogen; the vacuum installation off gas with .5% H/sub 2/; the ''A'' distillation off gas with 56.2% H/sub 2/; the H.O.L.D. gas with 56.2% H/sub 2/; and the fresh gas with 96.58% H/sub 2/. The fresh gas is composed only of CO/sub 2/, cH/sub 2/S, H/sub 2/, N/sub 2/, and CO. It is the only gas on the table containing any CO. These analyses were dated on February 26, 1940 for the cold converter step III, the washer step I and step II, the washer off gas, and the vacuum installation off gas; February 29, 1940 for the ''A'' distillation off gas; March 1, 1940 for the circulating gas behind and in front of the oil wash; and March 2, 1940 for the H.O.L.D. Gas.
