Application of 30-MeV microtron for purposes of radioactivation analysis

Journal Article · · Instrum. Exp. Tech. (USSR) (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:7319716
A ..gamma..-activation analysis scheme is described and the limiting parameters obtained for the case of small (approximately 5 x 10/sup -6/ percent) oxygen impurities and small (approximately 3 x 10/sup -6/ percent) carbon impurities in metals using the bremsstrahlung of electrons accelerated in a microtron are indicated. The changes in the construction of the accelerating resonator microtron which allow the accelerated current to be raised to 35 ..mu..A at an energy of 30 MeV and also permit an increase in the analysis sensitivity are described.
