General Electric's traditional commitment to the electric utility industry has been marked by a non-stop pattern of public communication on the values of electricity and of the people who provide it. A brief history of these communications is presented here--from GE's first industry-support program in 1917, to its role in the successful campaign to defeat the anti-nuclear referendum in California last June.
