Mitsubishi smokeless operation technology
Smokeless coal charging and coke pushing operations developed by Mitsubishi Chemical Industries Ltd. of Tokyo are described. Smokeless charging is accomplished by using a gas liquor as a medium to trigger the ejecting effect in combination with a larry car equipped with a dust collector. About 80% of the coke oven gas and fine coal dust which are emitted during the course of charging are collected forcibly by means of the ejector, using as a motivating medium the gas liquor which is produced during the carbonization of coke in the oven. The remaining 20% is collected by a conventional dust collector. The smokeless coke pushing operation consists of a hood covering the quenching car, suction ducts installed along the coke ovens, a wet dust scrubber installed close to the coke ovens, piping connecting the ducts and the dust collector, a suction fan, a stack, and auxiliary equipment.
