The evaluation of surface geometry modification to improve the directional selectivity of solar energy collectors. Final report, 1 Dec 1973--31 Dec 1975
Technical Report

OSTI ID:7314261
This report examines the radiative performance of directionally selective collectors composed of parallel, east-west oriented, stationary, trapezoidal grooves. Computer simulations for their radiative performance were developed. Experimental models of the collector geometry were constructed and tested. The radiative performance of these models was compared to that predicted, with good agreement achieved, verifying the computer simulations. Computer simulations of radiative behavior with direct beam, non-direct, and various combinations of insolation are presented.
