Performance of subbituminous coal in a typical underfeed domestic stoker

Results of performance tests of two sizes of subbituminous coal in modern domestic stoker are reported. Object of the investigation was to determine efficient methods of operation, to study relationship of size and range in size to performance in small stokers, and to ascertain changes necessary in design of retorts to improve combustion of subbituminous coal and lignite.
