Wilmington Field California polymer flood: a case history

Conference ·
OSTI ID:7301368
Pusher 700 dissolved in Wilmington Gaspur water (2.9 percent sodium chloride) was injected for tertiary oil recovery into the Fault Block V Ranger Unit, Wilmington Oilfield at Long Beach, California. The reservoir has an average porosity of 37.5 percent, a high permeability, and has been waterflooded. The crude oil gravity is 18/sup 0/ API and the viscosity is 30.8 cp at 135/sup 0/F (reservoir temperature). No increases in oil recovery were noted for the project as a whole, and no group of wells showed any favorable data after 2 /sup 1///sub 2/ years of treatment.
