The three processes {gamma}+{ital d}{r arrow}{Lambda}{sup 0}({Sigma}{sup 0})+{ital K}{sup 0}+{ital p} and {gamma}+{ital d}{r arrow}{Sigma}{sup {minus}}+{ital K}{sup +}+{ital p} are investigated in the framework of the impulse approximation. The exclusive reactions {ital d}({gamma},{ital Kp}){ital Y} where the proton is detected in coincidence with the {ital K}{sup 0} or {ital K}{sup +} should provide unique signatures for each of the processes. In most kinematic situations the final-state {ital Yp} interaction is insignificant and the elementary process cross section for {gamma}+{ital n}{r arrow}{ital Y}+{ital K} can be reliably extracted. Cross-section estimates are given for several models of the basic production operator.
