Processes for the simultaneous displacement of petroleum and water in formations

Patent ·
OSTI ID:7299570
The minimum total relative mobility of the oil and water in a reservoir is determined to permit the design of the soluble oil slug and thickened water flood to have lower mobilities. The thickened water should have a lower mobility than the soluble oil for good mobility control. The soluble oil contained petroleum sulfonate, isopropanol, crude column overhead hydrocarbons and water. Dow Pusher (partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide) was used in a concentration of 2,400 ppM in the water flood.
