Shear stabilization of drift waves in noncircular cross section axisymmetric configurations. Memorandum report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7297280
A calculation is given of the shear induced damping of drift waves for noncircular cross section axisymmetric devices in the electrostatic approximation. Comparison of damping rates for circular and elliptical cross section tokamaks shows only a weak dependence on the ellipticity. (Author)
