Project conserve: pilot project in homeowner energy conservation. Final report, 26 Feb-31 Oct 1974

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7294662
Data voluntarily supplied by homeowners were processed by computer to produce a report containing the costs and savings of do-it-yourself or contractor-installed energy conserving retrofit actions; e.g., storm windows and doors, ceiling insulation, weather stripping, caulking or thermostat set back. Validation demonstrated that data produced conservatively accurate estimates of costs and savings. Project Conserve produced a data base of existing physical and operational energy-conserving characteristics of homes in a city, plus potential for conservation. (GRA)
