Review of ehv transmission

An historical review and present developments in extra high voltage transmission are presented. The work done at the Ryan High Voltage Laboratory, Stanford University, in early 1927 is discussed. The Tidd Test Site and Ohio Brass High Voltage Laboratory are described. Research conducted at General Electric's EHV Project and Bonneville Power Administration's plans to build a 460 to 500 kV experimental line to test conductor handling and construction techniques are briefly mentioned.
