Data presented are part of the Dry Valley Drilling Project investigation of the geologic history of southern Victoria Land. Maps are presented to show geologic formations of the area. Procedures are described for analysis of crystalline basement rocks and a table is presented to show rubidium and strontium concentrations and /sup 87/Sr//sup 86/Sr and /sup 87/Rb//sup 86/Sr ratios in gneiss and granite samples. Rubidium-strontium isochron diagrams are presented for quartz monzonite, biotite, plagioclase, feldspar, gneiss, and whole rock. Data indicated that the true age of the basement rock was greater than 500 million years. (HLW)
