Tentative method for continuous separation and collection of particulate and water-soluble gaseous fluorides in the atmosphere (filter and impinger method)

Particulate and water-soluble gaseous fluorides in the atmosphere are continuously separated and collected on a chemically treated filter and in an impinger. Air drawn through an inlet tube is first passed through an acid-treated prefilter to remove particulates which may contain fluoride and then through an impinger to remove the water-soluble fluoride. The solutions from the prefilter and impinger are removed from the system at the end of a selected sampling period for analysis by a photometric or potentiometric method. (BLM)
