OSTI ID:7267377
Mercaptans are determined in air samples at concentrations below 100 ppB by bubbling the air through an absorber solution for a specified period of time at a specified flow rate. The collected mercaptan is determined colorimetrically using N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine. When air is sampled at the maximum recommended rate of 2l/min for 2h, the minimum detectable mercaptan concentration is 1.0 ppB. Other sulfur compounds cause interference with the method. (BLM)
