Possibility of H dibaryon production with energetic hyperon and meson beams

We present cross section estimates and describe possible experiments for the production of the doubly strange six quark {ital H} dibaryon in the two-body reactions {Xi}{sup {minus}}+{ital p}{r arrow}{pi}{sup 0}+{ital H},{rho}{sup 0}+{ital H}, {Sigma}{sup {minus}}+{ital p}{r arrow}{ital K}{sup 0}+{ital H},{ital K}{sup 0*}+{ital H}, and {Lambda}+{ital p}{r arrow}{ital K}{sup +}+{ital H},{ital K}{sup *+}+{ital H}, in the energy region from 1 to 20 GeV. We also consider the semi-inclusive process {Xi}{sup {minus}}+{ital p}{r arrow}{ital H}+{ital {bar p}}+{ital X} in the region of a few hundred GeV/{ital c}, and two step processes induced by pion and kaon beams in the 2--6 GeV/{ital c} range.
