The authors investigate the chromatographic separation of mixtures of micro= and macroquantities of Eu and Gd with the use of ethylenediaminedisuccinic acid (EDDS) and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). It has been shown that EDTA is a sufficiently efficient agent for the separation of this element pair. The a /SUP Eu/ /SUB Gd/ values obtained in experiments with microquantities of REE are not obtained in the separation of macroquantities of Eu-Gd; ths is evidently related to the influence of polymerization processes in systems containing EDDS complexes of REE.
