The specific strong interaction effects associated with heavy quark systems in the {Upsilon}(4S) energy region have been studied using data collected with the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR). The author reports on the observation of {psi} mesons from {Upsilon}(4S) decays which are too energetic to come from B mesons. These events provide the first evidence for non-B{bar B} decay of the {Upsilon}(4S). The measured rate is B{tau}({Upsilon}(4S) {yields} {psi}X) = (0.22 {plus minus} 0.06 {plus minus} 0.04)T for {psi} momenta above 2 GeV/c. He also reports on the first positive evidence of a signal for D{sub s}{sup +} {yields} {phi}l{sup +}{nu}. He has measured the ratio {Gamma}(D{sub s}{sup +} {yields} {phi}l{sup +}{nu})/{Gamma}(D{sub s}{sup +} {yields} {phi}{pi}{sup +}) = 0.49 {plus minus} 0.10{sub {minus}0.14}{sup +0.10} and uses this measurement to determine the absolute branching ratio of D{sub s}{sup +} {yields} {phi}{pi}{sup +} as B{tau}(D{sub s}{sup +} {yields} {phi}{pi}{sup +}) = (3.1 {plus minus} 0.6{sub {minus}0.6}{sup +0.9} {plus minus} 0.6)%.
