Dye laser synchronously pumped by a repetitively pulsed YAG laser

Frequency-doubled light from a repetitively pulsed, mode-locked YAG laser of thermally stable cavity was used to sychronously pump a R-6G dye laser. Experimental results obtained are as follows: Average power 14 mW, peak power of single pulse over 5 MW, single pulse width 28 ps repetition rate of pulse train 20 Hz, tunable range from 550.0 nm to 586.5 nm, spectral linewidth 0.1 nm, and conversion efficiency 11%. When the linewidth is 0.04 nm, the conversion efficiency is 8%.
