Secondary oil recovery process using micellar dispersions. [87% oil in place]
Patent

OSTI ID:7215959
A carbohydrate was added to a micellar dispersion to reduce the viscosity of the dispersion. Hydrocarbon and/or sulfonate may increase the viscosity. An oil saturated Berea core (640 md) was water flooded before injection of a micellar slug followed by a mobility buffer (aqueous solution of Dow Pusher 530). The slug contained sodium petroleum sulfonate (equivalent weight 460), heptane, methylcyclopentane, isopropyl alcohol, water, and glucose. The recovery was 87 percent OIP.
