Petroleum production utilizing miscible-type and thickened slugs
Patent
·
OSTI ID:7215919
A soluble oil slug, followed by a thickened drive fluid, and finally water can be used to recover oil. The surfactant in the soluble oil slug may be any nonionic, cationic, or anionic surfactant. The slug also contains an alcohol, crude petroleum liquids, and brackish water. Partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide is used to thicken the drive fluid.
