The objective of this program is to design, construct, and test a multicell fluidized-bed boiler, as a pollution-free method of burning high-sulfur coal, or burining highly corrosive coals without excessive maintenance problems, with an approximate steam generating capacity of 300,000 pounds per hour. Steam pressure and temperature conditions are selected to meet requirements of the site at which the boiler is being installed.
