The objective of this program is to design, construct and test a multicell fluidized-bed boiler as a pollution-free method of burning high-sulphur coal, or burning highly corrosive coals without excessive maintenance problems. The fluidized-bed boiler will provide approximately 300,000 pounds of steam per hour. Steam pressure and temperature conditions were selected to meet requirements of the site at which the boiler is being installed.
