Coal near the Black Hills, Wyoming-South Dakota

An examination was done on the area west of the Black Hills, Sundance, and New Castle quadrangles in order to classify the various types of coal present in these areas. A detailed description of the surrounding geology and coal seams is included in the report, in addition results of analyzed samples of the run of mine Cambria coal for Au and Ag are pesented in a table. The source of Au in the coal was believed to be the overlaying sand which contained some Au bearing alluvium.
