During the past year, this investigation has focused on two areas, namely: a) The design, synthesis, and evaluation of potential site-directed agents able to reactivate or facilitate reactivation by 2-PAM of aged, soman-inhibited acetylcholinesterase, or able to retard the rate of aging. b) The evaluation of the prophylactic and/or therapeutic potential of agents able to inhibit the synthesis of acetylcholine.
