Electrochemical investigation of complexes of Ni(II) with diphenylphosphine

Journal Article · · J. Gen. Chem. USSR (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:7202426

By electrochemical methods it was shown that the products of the reactions of Ni(acac)2 and NiBr2 with diphenylphosphine contain two Ni-P bonds which are broken on reduction with the formation of a cluster and diphenylphosphine. It was shown that diphenylphosphine can undergo catalytic discharge on mercury with the participation of tetrabutylammonium cations. The electrochemical methods enabled the authors to distinguish unambiguously nickel phosphide complexes and Ni(PPh/sub 2/H)/sub 4/.
