Book ·
OSTI ID:7199987
According to this 1975 Fact Sheet, steady progress is being made in energy conservation and efficiency improvement in 10 energy-intensive industries of the U.S. Most conservation measures that result in immediate benefits have been implemented. Energy use data are presented for the following industries: aluminum, petroleum refining, chemicals, steel, cement, paper, glass, baking, meat packing, and copper. The conservation activities of these industries are being reported voluntarily as a part of the Industrial Energy Conservation Program sponsored by the Federal Energy Administration and the Department of Commerce. Accomplishments of these industrial groups are summarized in tabular form, and progress that individual industries have made in energy conservation is described. (BYB)
