Gas demand forecasts for the U.S. based on the survey approach are reported. Demands are projected to 1990, and the forecasts are a result of a study by the Future Requirements Committee. Some results of work done by the Demand Task Force in an attempt to isolate the impact of energy price relationships are included. The forecasts are made for different sectors of the economy: residential, commercial, industrial, electric utilities, and others. Another technique of forecasting, econometrics, is discussed. (BLM)
