Radiative decays of strange baryons and the structure of weak interactions. [Quark model, decay amplitudes, currents, angular distribution]

Radiative weak decays such as ..sigma../sup +/ ..-->.. p..gamma.., ..xi../sup -/ ..-->.. ..sigma../sup -/..gamma.., etc. are considered and various symmetry relations among these amplitudes are derived. They are then analyzed in a quark model and the operator-product expansion is studied. The effects of introducing right-handed currents are discussed. They are found to change drastically the angular distribution of the decay products, depending on the specific form of the right-handed current used. (AIP)
