cap omega. /sup -/ and. sigma. /sup +/. -->. p. gamma. nonleptonic weak decays via current algebra, partial conservation of axial-vector current, and the quark model

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. D; (United States)
By employing the current-algebra--PCAC (partial conservation of axial-vector current) program at the hadron level, the three decays ..cap omega../sup -/..--> xi../sup 0/..pi../sup -/, ..xi../sup -/..pi../sup 0/, ..lambda..K/sup -/ are reasonably described in terms of only one fitted (..delta..I = (1/2))/(..delta..I = (3/2)) parameter of expected small 6% magnitude. Other parameters needed in the analysis, the baryon octet and decuplet weak transitions , , and , are completely constrained from B..-->..B'..pi.. weak decays and independently from the quark model. The ..sigma../sup +/..-->..p..gamma.. radiative decay amplitude and asymmetry parameters are then determined in terms of no free parameters.
