1987 Grayloc stud bolt evaluation

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:719141
In accordance with the N Reactor In-Service Inspection and Testing Requirements (UNI 1986) 39 Grayloc bolts were removed from Grayloc connectors around the V-11 values during the N Reactor standdown in March 1987. This report documents the results of the visual and destructive examination. Thirty-three Grayloc stud bolts were removed from the inlet pipe space and tested full size. Six stud bolts were tested according to ASTM A-370 (ASTM 1986). The results showed no reductions in strength below the minimum purchase specification for these bolts. All failures appeared to be ductile in nature.
