A comprehensive characterization and evaluation was performed of disposal and utilization practices for sludges from municipal wastewater and water treatment plants. The nature and quantities of the sludges were discussed. Various sludge handling and treatment techniques were detailed. Problems encountered in sludge disposal were reviewed, and the economics of wastewater sludge disposal were discussed. (GRA)
