Atmosphere effects on Nb/sub 3/Ge growth and superconductivity

Journal Article · · Appl. Phys. Lett.; (United States)
DOI:https://doi.org/10.1063/1.88997· OSTI ID:7180126
Quantitative improvements are observed in the T/subc/, resistivity ratio, and reproducibility of superconducting Nb/sub 3/Ge films coevaporated in air, N/sub 2/, and O/sub 2/ background pressures of 10/sup -6/--10/sup -5/ mm Hg. T/subc/ onsets above 21.5 degreeK and (300 degreeK/25 degreeK) resistivity ratios above 2 are achieved. Pressures above the optimum result in degraded film properties. (AIP)
