This report describes work conducted in EPRI research project RP1084-21 titled ''Load Leveling Lead Acid Battery Systems for Customer Side Applications: Market Potential and Commercialization Strategy''. The purpose of this study was two-fold: To estimate the probable market potential of customer-side-of-the-electric-meter (CSOM) applications of load leveling lead-acid battery systems; to develop a commercialization strategy for these battery systems consistent with the estimated market potential. The study was designed to provide utilities and other interested groups with market-side information to help them determine the desirability of incorporating CSOM into their future plans. 8 refs., 25 figs., 17 tabs.
