Producing depth records

New producing depth records were reported in 1969 for Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, and Oklahoma. Oklahoma's record holder, a gas producer, reached a total depth of 22,652 ft. Alabama posted a new record of 15,484 ft in a gas producer located in Escambia County. In Arkansas, a Smackover producer located in Columbia County reached a new record depth of 11,060 ft. The new Florida record of 11,892 ft was attained in an oil producer located in Collier County. Holders of records of the deepest producing wells in the U.S. and the regional producing depth records are shown in the 2 tabulations.
