Preparation of 9-vinyl- and 9-ethynyl-o- and m-carboranes

This paper presents a simple method applied to the synthesis of previously unknown 9-vinyl- and 9-ethynyl-o- and m-carboranes from 9-iodo-o- and m-carboranes and the corresponding vinyl- and ethynylmagnesium halides.
