Scintillation camera imaging of acute myocardial infarction using /sup 99m/Tc stannous pyrophosphate: a clinical trial

Technetium-99m pyrophosphate myocardial scanning appears to be an easy, safe, noninvasive procedure that can be helpful in the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction in patients with an uncertain clinical and laboratory picture. Its use in the detection of extension, re-infarction and possibly ventricular aneurysms should be considered. Pyrophosphate scanning is a sensitive but not entirely specific test for recent acute myocardial infarction.
