Dielectric measurements of glasses of the binary system Ge /SUB x/ X /SUB 1-x/ (X = S, Se)
The present paper reports the continuation of dielectric measurements on glasses of binary chalcogenide systems directed to finding whether chemically ordered phases can form in these materials and what their composition is. A study of the phase diagram of the system Ge /SUB x/ S /SUB 1-x/ led to the conclusion that two congruently melting compounds GeS/sub 2/ and GeS can form. A study of the phase diagram of the system Ge /SUB x/ Se /SUB 1-x/ established that a congruently melted compound GeSe/sub 2/ is formed and an incongruently melting compound GeSe, which interact one with another in a eutectic way. It is confirmed that in glasses of the Ge /SUB x/ X /SUB 1-x/ systems, ordered phases of compositions with x = 0.20, 0.33, and 0.40 are formed.
