Natural gas industry in transition

Journal Article · · Energy J.; (United States)
An outline of major issues facing the gas industry today identifies gas supply, gas price trends, and the outlook for gas demand as major factors. Poised for an era of growth as the combined effects of the recession, falling oil prices, and gas deregulation settle out, the gas industry will find relief from many of the competitive market pressures on distributors. Price signals will be transmitted more rapidly from pipelines to producers, but federal and local regulators must cooperate with gas industries in this process. 7 references.
