This decision document presents a selected remedial action designed to reduce potential leaching of soil contaminants to groundwater at Site 34, Pease AFB, NH. The selected remedy includes the excavation of contaminated soils and drainage piping associated with Site 34. Also included is groundwater extraction and treatment for excavation dewatering purposes. The treatment and/or disposal of soils removed from the site will include one of the following; thermal desorption elsewhere on the base, asphalt batching of the soils at an off-base vendor location, or disposal at a Subtitle D Landfill or RCRA facility, as deemed necessary at the time of remediation.
