Northwest's electric generation surplus: the bad news is yet to come

Responding to a January 5, 1984 article by Marc M. Hellman, the author shows that alarming projections of deficit power supplies based on firm resources estimates and, overlooking competition for power sales within interconnected systems, illustrates the planning fallacies that underlie the current situation in the Pacific Northwest. Tussing predicts the generation surplus of the region will lead to more bad news. (DCK)
