'94 E P (exploration and production) spending: Depends on oil prices

This paper reviews the exploration and production statistics and expenditures for the oil and gas industry for 1993 through 1994. The paper presents numerous graphs that show the expenditures for each of the major oil and gas companies for both 1993 and 1994 along with a discussion of which segment of the exploration or production cycle the money was utilized in. Subsections of the paper discuss drilling activities in the US by state, using total footage, number of wells, drill rig activity, and production. Figures on oil and gas reserves for each state is also provided. Similar summary information is provided on a global basis to contrast activity in the US with the rest of the world.
