This abstract represents a series of articles by the same authors dealing with exploration and production statistics and predictions for 1993. These series of articles take on a news report type of format and are broken down into the following sub-articles: Shifting back to the US; US drilling: up is the only direction left; Look for a moderate rise in US exploration; US rig count drops to a new record low; US oil production is dropping once again; Producing oil well numbers head down again; Producing gas well numbers are up once again; Drilling/producing depths: two records in each area; US oil and gas reserves resume downward trends; Drilling remains strong in many world regions; US Gulf to pace '93 increase; and, World output boosted by rapid OPEC expansion. This series of paper provides many useful graphs and tables listing production figures of individual oil and gas companies; proposed exploration by company; expenditures on exploration and development by company; predicts drilling by state and countries; gives historical drilling accounts by number of wells and total footage; summaries the number of drilling rigs operating in the US by state; production by state and country; lists numbers of producing wells by state; and gives reserve estimates on both states and countries. It is easily concluded from this series of papers that the US is rapidly depleting their oil reserve base and is getting less return on investments in new drilling.
