We have performed muon spin relaxation ([mu]SR) measurements of polycrystalline specimens of Y[sub 1[minus][ital x]]U[sub [ital x]]Pd[sub 3] with [ital x]=0.1, 0.2, 0.4, and UPd[sub 4]. We demonstrate that UPd[sub 4] and Y[sub 0.6]U[sub 0.4]Pd[sub 3] exhibit spin glass order, while the predominant volume fraction remains nonmagnetic at [ital T][r arrow]0 in Y[sub 0.8]U[sub 0.2]Pd[sub 3] and the muon spin relaxation rate becomes even smaller in Y[sub 0.9]U[sub 0.1]Pd[sub 3], indicating the disappearance of magnetic order with decreasing U concentration [ital x]. These results are discussed in terms of the competition between the crystalline electric field splitting [Delta][sub CEF] and the exchange coupling [ital J].
