The internal pulsed modulation of a He-Ne laser at lambda = 0.63 ..mu..m, making it possible to obtain a gain (by a factor of approximately 60) in the light intensity compared with external modulation, was examined theoretically. An increase in the duration of the leading edge of the modulating pulse leads to a decrease in the deliverable light intensity.
