We calculate the {ital E}1 decay rates of the bound states of the {ital b{bar b}} system in the nonsingular potential model of Gupta, Repko, and Suchyta (GRS) and compare them with the recent experimental results. We get predictions somewhat different from the original GRS results and overall these new results are in better agreement with experiment. We point out the importance of including both the relativistic corrections to the wave function and the finite-size corrections to the {ital E}1 decay rates, especially for transitions which involve a change of more than one unit in the radial quantum number.
