This paper presents a study on the hydrosilylation of mono-, di-, tri-, and tetravinylsilanes by trimethyl-, trichloro-, and methylchlorosilanes in the presence of Speier's catalyst. Variation of the catalyst or solvent upon hydrosilylation of the vinylsilanes may alter the direction of the addition of the hydrosilane to the C=C bond with formation of a 1,1- or 1,2-disilyl-substituted ethane. A scheme was proposed for the hydrosilylation of vinylsilane in the presence of Speier's catalyst using silicon analogs of Zeise salt.
