The impedance of V/sub 3/Si single crystals in the mixed state was studied. At maximum critical current the impedance has a minimum whose amplitude is non-monotonically dependent on the temperature. The characteristic rate of loss in the region of the peak effect is almost an order of magnitude higher than in small fields. The dependence of the field b/sub p/ at which the peak effect is observed is in accord with the results published in the literature. The position of the impedance maximum (minimum j/sub c/) reckoned from H/sub c/2 remains constant (H/sub c/2 : H/sub m/=3.6 +- 0.2 T) in the temperature range from 2 to 12/sup 0/ K and tends to zero near T/sub c/.
