A study has been made of the breakdown of the framework of the high-silica zeolites TsVK-I, TsVK-XI, and TsVM using derivatography, IR spectroscopy, and high-resolution /sup 29/Si and /sup 27/Al NMR. It has been discovered that at a Na/sub 2/O/Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ mole ratio < 1, all samples become amorphous at T > 1100/sup 0/C; the process begins with the breaking of the Al-O bonds and depends on the hydroxyl covering of the zeolite. For samples with Na/sub 2/O/Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ > 1, breakdown of the lattice Si-O-Si bonds occurs at T < 1000/sup 0/C and depends on the degree of crystallization of the zeolite.
