This volume contains collected papers from distinguished authors on the North American Continent and abroad, and spans several national and internationaly meetings beginning with the Second Chemical Congress of the North American Continent in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1980. The four parts included are: Impact of Tar Sands and Oil Shale; Impact of Oil Spills at Sea; Impact of Fugitive Hydrocarbon Emissions; and Impact of Lurgi Coal Gasification. Twenty-four chapters were abstracted separately for inclusion in the Energy Data Base. (DP)
